As you can read below, Katherine Logan's volunteer experience is quite extensive. For years she has given freely of her time and energy to help those in need.

This school year she was a key organizer and recruiter for the College's successful Dance Marathon which raised tens of thousands of dollars for MUSC. She is obviously very good at recruiting and fundraising if you look at how the event in February raised more than $70,000 for MUSC's Childrens Hospital. This year's total was $27,000 more than was raised last year. Some 300 C of C students participated in the 15 hour marathon.

Not only does Katherine spend her free time volunteering, she excels in the Honors College here at the College of Charleston and is an active member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

What is your most memorable volunteer experience? Dance Marathon every year is extremely rewarding. However, I have volunteered so much that it is difficult to just pick one memorable experience. I have had several that will last me a lifetime.

What are you most proud of contributing to your organizations? I really enjoy helping to recruit participants for Dance Marathon. I like advocating such a great cause.

What do you enjoy most about community service: It's a fun way to get involved and make a difference in the community. I have also met a lot of new people and have gained a lot experience.

How do you think your friends and family would describe you? Outgoing, energetic, dedicated, passionate about what I do, and determined to make a difference.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about volunteering? Dedicating your time and effort to those in less advantageous situations than your own, is one of the most rewarding experiences anyone could hope to have. These are experiences that force you to put the best interest of others before yourself, providing a humbling experience that will leave you changed for the rest of your life.

What are your plans after graduation? I plan on attending to pharmacy school.
