Sophomore Jon Papaharis dedicates nearly 400 hours a year to CofC's EMS, as well as committing his time to Charleston County's EMS.

Although the CofC EMS organization is, in his words, "under-recognized," Jon and his team have placed in the top 10 the last two years in a row at the National Collegiate EMS Competition.

Working side by side with Charleston County EMS, Jon has big plans as the program's new in the coming year. Along with a full load of school Jon dedicates roughly 2-3 nights a week to sleep at the CofC EMS Room at public safety, waiting for emergency calls.

Jon began volunteering with CofC's EMS not knowing that medical care would soon become a passion. Along with continuing volunteer work throughout his college career, Jon plans on attending nursing school at MUSC after graduation.
