If I told you Tim Drevins spent his Friday dancing the night away and having a blast with all of his friends, you would think he was just a typical college student.

But if I told you he stayed awake for 15 hours one Friday night to raise more than $70,000 for MUSC Children's Hospital and Children's Miracle Network, you would think he was a cut above the rest.

And you would be correct.

Not only does Tim, a freshman, donate his time and energy to a number of on-campus activities and his academics, he always finds time to give back to his community. In addition to Dance Marathon, Tim volunteers his time locally for neighborhood clean-ups, Charleston Dash for Trash, and Relay for Life.

What is your most memorable volunteer experience? My most memorable volunteer experience was Dance Marathon because it is extremely rewarding to see your months of hard work pay off. To see that we raised over $70,000 for the Children's Miracle Network is overwhelming because so much can be done with that money. The best part of Dance Marathon is that you actually get to meet and play with the children who you are raising the money for. I left the event with one word on my mind... "WOW!"

What are you most proud of contributing to your organizations? I am most proud of contributing my high spirit and work drive to my organizations. I am extremely on the ball with whatever I am doing and to combine that with high energy can make any event successful.

What do you enjoy most about community service: The feeling of helping others is by far the most rewarding thing about volunteering no matter what you are doing to help.

How do you think your friends and family would describe you? Driven, high spirited, organized, fun

What would you tell someone who is thinking about volunteering? Nike-- just do it!

What are your plans after graduation? Undecided (Tim's only a freshman), probably grad school
